Graduate of the Canadian Opera Company's Ensemble studio, Danika Lorèn is known for her dramatic sensitivity and instinctive musicality. Her finesse with song repertoire has afforded Danika opportunities to share the stage with internationally recognized singers such as Stephanie Blythe, Barbara Hannigan and Catherine Wyn-Rogers. Having premiered the first of her own compositions with the Canadian Art Song Project in 2016, Ms. Lorèn has debuted her work in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre and at the National Sawdust (NY). She continues to compose, create new projects, and is a founding member of Collectìf: an artist collective dedicated to exploring art song as theatre.

Fellow COC Ensemble studio alumn, Stéphane Mayer has studied under the tutelage of acclaimed Canadian pianists Kyoko Hashimoto and Michael McMahon. Mr. Mayer has also studied alongside noted interpreters of German Lied: Elly Ameling, Robert Holl, Julius Drake, Andreas Schmidt and Roger Vignoles, at the Franz-Schubert Institute in Baden bei Wien, Austria. In addition to playing the piano, Stéphane is passionate about composing and cultivating new Canadian works.

For the past few years, Ms. Lorèn and Mr. Mayer have shared many notable concert experiences together. They have appeared regularly in the COC's Free Concert Series, and at the Wellington Water Week festival. A Canada-wide tour of their work “Home/Grown” will take place in March 2020, including debut works by both artists.
